I have a test environment.
I want to use automation to check the desktop status of View, than, reset the desktop if the status of desktop is connection.
And, When the status of desktop is connection, how to check whether the user connect to desktop( the session is active ) .
When we try to setup a windows 2016 server for desktop mode, it still shows up at RDS Host mode inside the View server. THis works on windows 2012, and 2008 without any problems. Is there a new step required to make 2016 work?
I purchased VMUG Advantage and am trying to create/load Win10 in VMWare Workstation. I can confirm I downloaded the full Vmware workstation .exe with the disc images (iso files) from VMUG's onthehub site and have a valid license.
After configuring my new VM for Win10 and attempting to boot, I get this message:
EFI Vmware Virtual SCSI Hard Drive (0.0) ... unsuccessful.
EFI Vmware Virtual SATA CDROM Drive (1.0) ... unsuccessful.
EFI Network ...
It is then followed up with a Boot Manager message; I've tried Enter Setup and tried both Configure boot options and Boot from a File. No success.
Can anyone provide insight or guidance on resolving this? Have I missed a step?

Win10 64 Pro host system, Win 10 64 Pro guest system (but also with Win 7 64 Pro) When I insert the key, but also some USB devices, the system freezes and it's no longer possible to do anything except restart the host and delete the * .mem file to start the virtual machine again
I am using model-driven archetype.
In the workflow i am using action and in the workflow i am using out param which will accept the object returned by that action so while running the workflow i am getting the below error

Hello all.
So, we've been having some trouble on our stand-alone ESXi host when attempting to login to the Embedded Host Client. When we login we keep getting exception errors, and sometime it won't allow us into the Client at all. Usually if we just refresh the page immediately after logging in, we can access the Host Client. Still, it's causing problems and it's definitely time to upgrade/update the Host Client.
A bit of info:
We are running ESXI 6.5.0 (Build: 4887370)
the version of the Embedded Host client we are running currently (the one with the problems) is: "esx-ui_1.8.0-4516221"
We have SSH enabled and I have downloaded the most current esx-ui.vib (esxui-signed-12086396) from the "Flings" page - however I'm a bit concerned because these seem to be "preview" builds only and we NEED as stable release.
My question is this:
1) for our case should we update the client or should we simply do a clean install of the most current version of the Embedded Host Client?
a) what I mean is: From our SSH console, should we uninstall esx-ui_1.8.0-4516621 and run esxcli software vib install -v http://..., or should be just update using esxcli software vib update -v http://...
2) Will this download page (http://download3.vmware.com/software/vmw-tools/esxui/esxui_signed.vib) provide me with the most current stable release?
3) Finally, is there a better way to do this other than using VUM?

I am facing an issue with D drive of a server where suddenly the vm (running win 2012 R2 OS) was not accessible and after a reboot i could access with ctl+alt+del but D drive is showing as not accessible with error " the drive can not find the sector requested" .
can anybody help recover the partition as we have database installed in drive D. Attached vmware log for the machine and the issue happened midday 28th June.
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has come across a similar situation. Basically, I've started getting alerts within vCenter about the health status of the vmware_vpostgres service. Upon close inspection, this appears to be due to the /storage/log disk nearing its capacity. I've gone ahead and expanded the drive, but this is only a temporary fix as the drive continues to fill up.https://vlc.onl/
I've come across a number of articles stating that this is most likely due to the log files in the SSO directory not being compressed correctly, but while I see a large number of log files there, none appear to be very large.Appvalley
The culprit that I am seeing is the messages.1 file which is now approaching 10GB and doesnt appear to be rolling over. Has anyone come across anything similiar? This appears to have started after updating vcenter to version 6.5.0.24000 Tweakbox
Are there any instructions or tutorials for installing Windows 10 IoT Core on VMWare Workstation?
I am using Workstation 14 on Windows 10 x64 Pro.
I downloaded the ISO images for IoT core and Minnowboard Max, but neither is a bootable ISO, they contain MSI files.

Cannot open the disk '/Users/nnnnnn/Documents/Virtual Machines.localized/Do Not Delete/Windows 7.vmwarevm/Windows 7.vmdk' or one of the snapshot disks it depends on.
Module 'Disk' power on failed.
Failed to start the virtual machine.
Then I have to click OK. (which it is not - I simply have no choice).
I am running Mac Osx High Sierra; 10.13.6. I also run VMware Fusion 11.1.0.
For the past month, I have been searching the Fusion community, but honestly feel so unbelievably ignorant, I am terrified. I have no idea where to start. Based in past users difficulties, I have figure out how to Get Info, and Open Package Contents.
Is there anyone who can help me understand what I should do next? I do understand that there is a general problem with Time Machine. But of course, this is the way I back up my Mac. So my question also includes: how should I back up my virtual machine, which is quite large?
Should I attach a log file? Which one? I don't know how to compress files (I told you I was ignorant).

I've screen resolution issue when running Windows 10 x 64 in Fusion 11.1.0 with macOS 10.14.5 (Mojave) on MacBook Pro 15.4inch retina (2880 x 1800 resolution).
Recently updated Fusion to v11.1.0, after which the screen resolution issue started, prior to which the virtual machine screen resolution as perfect at 2880 x 1800.
So, on booting Fusion a small window displays of approx 100mm x 100mm (this is normal). However, since the latest update, the virtual machine now remains at that small size once the startup has completed and does on automatically resize to 2880 x 1800. Trying to manually resize (View > Fullscreen) only displays at 1024x768.

i use in my pc, Windows 10 and workstation with another windows 10, but isn't very smooth.
Before to install vmtools, was a lag, everywhere. Now this issue is solved, but for example, when i put up and down windows, animation isn't very smooth.
When i try to drag a window, animation isn't smooth, bottom line, with my pc, my expectation was an experience, like without virtualization, so same same.
My pc:

32 GB DDR4
RadeonTM RX Vega M GH Graphics

Hello, can you guys please update VMware workstation to work with the new windows 10 1903 update because when you try to open a VM it just hangs and it doesn't open, sometimes it does but most times it doesn't open at all.
I've encountered bad metal 3d performance with both fusion 10 and 11.
Both win10 and win7 have the same problem. When using the metal render engine, 3d games can only run at a horrible frame rate. On the other hand, opengl backend doesn't have such issue with the same vm configuration.
I installed fusion on both my iMac and MBP, and the results were the same.
Any idea?

I'm trying to run the WWDC beta of macOS Catalina in VMware Fusion and there is a CPU panic when the VM boots and the guest OS can't ID the right hardware.

I have configured network selection with new property definition and group
My Vlans:

IT
I do see the two networks on new Server Request and when choosing RND network it assigned static IP from IT pool, even that I choose RND and RND network range is configured...
this weird behavior happens when I am working with network selection only, otherwise, if I assign existing network of each VLAN both are working good.
Why did it happen?
BTW, if I work as network selection, do I have to add this?
Do I need to add some settings to here?
