We have an ESXi 4.1 cluster with 6 hosts which share datastores on a SAN. We want to remove two hosts from the cluster, detach their storage connections and then put them into a new cluster with its own separate datastores.
After migrating all the guests off of the 2 hosts, what is the best sequence to follow? We need to be confident that when we delete the datastore connections on the 2 moving hosts, the remaining host connections to the datastores are not affected.
Any advice (or links to articles) would be much appreciated.
