I have tested an upgrade scenario where I have a vcenter 4.1 and a standalone SSO server. Because the SSO is separate user permissions and group assignments are lost during the upgrade, however the tree hierarchy remains intact. Is there a way to export permissions for vcenter 4.1 prior to upgrade and import the back into 5.1 afterward? I assume I will need to manually create the groups, add the membership and creat the local users in the SSO server first. Has anyone tried this?
